Web Fonts Stopped Working

The fonts on all my sites have stopped working. You can see an example at http://www.sursushi.com where all of the fonts have defaulted to plain fonts. These used to work and I did not realize that they stopped working because I have the font loaded on my system so it appears correct. I am guessing that it was one of the recent updates, but I am unsure. I have tried every combination of deleting them (in the preferences-web font area, restarting, reinstalling, uploading complete site, deleting entire site, setting up a test site, no matter what, the fonts upload to the correct folder, but do not show.

Gabriel, are you using webfont essentials?

Can you use Google fonts and simply use the import code rather than embeding the fonts?

Eashc, No, I am not using webfont essentials and the font I chose is not available is Google fonts. It was working perfectly before, even on mobile and I do not understand why it would break. Is there a way to fix this? Surely I cannot be the only person with this issue. Your assistance is appreciated.
Gabriel, a number of people have reported this issue with varying degrees of frustration. The problem is that when the problem exists we cannot recreate it. I know that some have solved the issue by simply removing and then added the webfont back. It appears that it is necessary to revisit textboxes, headers, etc when there are issues so the font gets properly reloaded, and before attempting an upload you should hold the CTRL key down to do a preview to force regeneration of the site.
You say "The fonts on all my sites have stopped working", does this mean they just stopped working or have all the sites been updated and uploaded from your PC recently?
Also, have you tried different browsers? I know IE, Edge, Chrome and Firefox all work slightly differently with fonts, perhaps your favourite browser has had an upgrade and now has difficulty?
Is this font public domain? If so you could provide details and I would be pleased to try it as well. Any chance of a screen shot of a page from http://www.sursushi.com with the correct font? (just in case I am looking at the correct font through my PC and don't realise it)

Please let us know how you get on.
Gabriel, I just read a post by someone on a facebook page that claims changing his project to desktop only, saving it, and changing it back to responsive restored all of his web fonts on all pages. Worth a try??
I have also had this problem — web font stops working.
For an example, see the site page, http://www.lambertpaving.com/asphalt-paving.html
The text in the top banner is now incorrect. it was fine a few weeks ago and I haven’t touched the site at all.
I’m going to look into fixing this tomorrow.
Which browser Myron, edge or all of them? All devices?? Could this potentially be due to the new quest to speed up website display by all browsers??
OR
Is it possible that the fonts were missing for weeks (dropping the problem back as an issue with wx5), but the cached version on your PC showed them correctly?
Frustrating.
No problem with the Windows browsers.
The problem is on iOS devices like the ipad and iPhone. I think it is tied to the latest update of the iOS operating system.
Apple has a way with screwing up their basic OS functionality.
I'd like to know whether anyone using Android-type mobile devices is having any problems.
I just noticed that there IS a web font problem with Mozilla Firefox. All the other Windows browsers (including the lowly Internet Explorer) are fine.
I just updated my website by using my chosen Google Fonts and I added their respective Import Codes.
There was no change in the results. All the Windows browsers are fine (with the exception of Mozilla Firefox) and the Apple iOS devices still don't fully support the web fonts.
NOTE: The web font problem only occurs in cells where I have used the Title Tool. All the cells using the Text Tool are fine. Therefore, this might be an Incomedia problem and it should be investigated as a possible BUG.
Hello Myron,
Can you please send me a screenshot of how it appears on Firefox or iPad?
Many thanks!
Hello Claudio,
Last night, I was at a friend’s house and I checked out the site http://www.lambertpaving.com
Because nothing is “cached” on his computer the web font problem showed up on every browser, Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, etc.
You can see this by going to this website yourself and viewing the text inside the top banner...
http://www.lambertpaving.com/asphalt-paving.html
I think I know what the problem is. The font in question that is NOT appearing correctly is Oswald semi-bold.
As an experiment, I started a new project in v.14.0.0.10 and I selected Oswald from the Google font list. There was no specific choice for an Oswald semi-bold.
Inside the new project, I entered a word 4 times and assigned all the available styles, which are Normal, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic.
I uploaded this “test” site and everything is fine in all browsers. You can see it at http://www.adita.com/oswald/index.html
So I’m not going to worry about Oswald semi-bold, and I’ll just use Oswald Bold instead.
In summary, I don’t think the web font problem is an Incomedia issue.
Myron, V13 has always had an issue with "sub-fonts"
This always works
But this never seems to work:
So either google is providing the wrong import string (unlikely?) or WX5 cannot parse the correct string to the google font engine.
I don't think this will be a problem in V14 because I don't think it will be an option.

Upgrading to version 14 "fixed" my font issue.
